Graz: Kunsthaus (art museum)

The Kunsthaus Graz, Grazer Kunsthaus, or Graz Art Museum was built as part of the European Capital of Culture celebrations in 2003 and has since become an architectural landmark in Graz, Austria. Its exhibition program specializes in contemporary art of the last four decades.

Graz: Karl-Franzens-University

The University of Graz (German, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz), a university located in Graz, Austria, is the second-largest university in Austria.

Graz - an introduction

Graz is the second-largest city in Austria, with a population of around 280,000. Some 40,000 of this population is made up of students, as Graz is home to no less than six universities (four 'standard' universities and two dedicated solely to applied sciences), and is associated with names as illustrious as Johannes Kepler, Erwin Schrödinger and Nikola Tesla.

Graz: History

The oldest settlement on the ground of the modern city of Graz dates back to the Copper Age. However, there is no historical continuity of a settlement before the Middle Ages.

Salzburg: Schloss Hellbrunn

Schloss Hellbrunn is an early Baroque schloss or palace near Morzg, a southern district of the city of Salzburg, Austria, built in the early seventeenth century by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems, Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg. It was only meant for use as a day residence in summer, and the Archbishop usually returned to Salzburg in the evening. Therefore, there is no bedroom in Hellbrunn.

St. Peter's Archabbey, Salzburg, otherwise St. Peter's Abbey (Stift Sankt Peter) is a Benedictine monastery in Salzburg in Austria.

The University of Salzburg, or Paris Lodron University (German Universität Salzburg) after its founder, the Prince Archbishop Paris Lodron, is located in the Austrian city of Salzburg, home of Mozart. Founded in 1622, it today has c. 11,000 students and c. 1,600 employees.

In Salzburg, the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum Salzburg honors the Austrian city's most famous son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Salzburg: Music Festival (Festspiele)

The Salzburg Festival (Salzburger Festspiele) is a prominent festival of music and drama. It is held each summer (for 5 weeks starting in late July) with in the Austrian town of Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In modern time there is also an annual Salzburg Easter Festival held by the same organization.
